Self-Respect: Getting There Together*

Self-Respect: Getting There Together* is for girls who struggle with poor self-esteem and issues of body image (including tendencies toward self-injuries, addictions, behavioral issues and eating disorders)

In the fall of 2010
girls ages 8 through 13 are invited to the program which will be convened at Lutheran Counseling Center's eastern Suffolk site in Patchogue, NY

In the spring of 2011
girls from 4th through 12th grades are invited to the program which will be convened at Lutheran Counseling Center's main site in Mineola, NY.

Program Description
1. Weekly Support Group Sessions led by licensed psychologists and social workers.

2. Individual weekly one-on-one counseling sessions  (may also be available at other times during the year depending on available funding).

3. Participating girls parents' support group meetings led by LCC psychotherapist (held at same time as girls' support group) in order tro provide guidance to parents of those enrolled.
