Judith Benke Honored with Silent Samaritan Award

The Silent Samaritan Award, presented annually to individuals in recognition of exemplary service to the Center, was awarded to Mrs. Judith Benke, past member and chairperson of the Administrative Board.  Left to right: Rev. Each year Lutheran Counseling Center recognizes one of its Association Congregations for its exemplary partnership in ministry.  This year the award went to GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH AND SCHOOL OF MALVERNE.  Presentation of the award was at the Center's Annual Gala on October 1.   Pictured left to right: Mrs. Wanda Walters, Principal of Grace Lutheran School;  Mrs. Molly Blancke, Executive director of the Lutheran Counseling Center; the Rev. Kathleen Koran, Assistant to the Bishop of the Metropolitan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American;  Mr. Robert Gallipini, president of Grace Lutheran Church.

Gala 2009
On October 1, 2009, the Counseling Center community gathered for its annual fund raising gala in support of the Silent Samaritan Fund (making counseling available to anyone who cannot afford the regular fee) as well as the general ministries at LCC.  Awards were given, sociability was enjoyed, entertainment was presented, greatly needed funds were raised, and a good time was had by all.
