Danita O. Wright

In Her Own Words. . . . .

My Story:

I am of Nicaraguan descent. I have been married for over 30 years to Rev. Dr. Craig JJ Wright, the pastor of an AME Church in the metropolitan New York area. We are the parents of two young men and have one grandson.

Hobbies and Interests:

I enjoy music and singing, arts and crafts, especially candle and candy making. I love working in the church with both the music and children’s ministries. Children have always brought joy to my life. In my free time, spending time with family and loved ones is very important to me. I also enjoy encouraging entrepreneurs and sharing their vision.

Favorite Quote:

“I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me” Philippians 4:13

This is my favorite scripture. It says that NOTHING is impossible as long as we remember to depend on God. Sometimes I need a reminder of this.

Why I became a therapist:

My decision to become a therapist was the result of having had several incidents where I became frustrated at being unable to help children in the confines of the system I worked in at the time. I wanted to have the skillset to make more of a difference in their lives. As a therapist I have a desire to help children and adults realize their purpose and obtain a healthy life. This sometimes means helping them with obstacles such as depression, anxiety, trauma or loss. My favorite part of the job is meeting people and through working together, depositing hope into their lives.

I am a Cognitive Behavioral based Therapist and use an eclectic variety of other treatments as well while working with children and adults impacted by anxiety, depression, ADHD/ADD, academic refusal and trauma.
